Joao Rulff, who completed his PhD at NYU with OSCUR in 2025 with the dissertation Visual Analysis of Multimodal Sensor Data, joined the School of Applied Mathematics (EMAp) of Fundação Getulio Vargas in Rio de Janeiro in June 2026.

As a researcher at NYU, he was a senior contributor to Autark, UrbanTrace and UrbanClipAtlas, and mentored the student teams behind them at NYU, Universidade Federal Fluminense and FGV. He continues to collaborate closely with the project.
